Upflow builds Financial Relationship Management (FRM) technology to help B2B companies get paid faster, more predictably, and with stronger customer relationships.
Today, most of the order-to-cash process is still fragmented. Collections, payments, cash application, and analytics are spread across disconnected tools, manual workflows, and incomplete data. Finance teams spend time chasing information instead of driving outcomes, and customers face a payment experience that doesn’t match modern standards.
Upflow brings this entire process into one system. From first invoice to reconciled payment, we give teams the visibility, automation, and control they need to collect smarter and collaborate across the business.
FRM is the foundation, AI is the accelerator. AI agents already operate across the platform, working on real financial data and customer interactions to support teams in prioritizing actions, automating workflows, and managing relationships at scale — with a clear path toward supervised autonomy.
Our mission: Radically transform how companies get paid to fulfill their growth potential and control their corporate destiny.
We care deeply about the candidate experience. We act diligently and respectfully with every applicant, and we commit to clear, timely communication throughout the entire recruiting journey. Our goal is simple: make every interview process a positive experience.
We believe in the potential of every individual, and we encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply, even if they don’t meet every qualification. Your unique experience and perspective may be exactly what we need.

We started working on Upflow in 2018 with the idea of financing B2B companies. After speaking with hundreds of finance teams, we realized the core need was much simpler: getting paid on time. That insight led us to build Upflow.

Alex and Barnaby met through Hexa, the startup studio behind companies like Front, Aircall, and Spendesk. Both engineers by background, they bring complementary strengths. Alex leads the business as CEO, while Barnaby oversees Product and Engineering as CTPO.
They assembled a small, focused team to build and launch Upflow. Many of those early team members are still with us today, having grown alongside the company.

Like most products, Upflow evolved significantly over time. We started with a broad value proposition, then refined our focus by identifying our core ICP through early customer feedback.
This led us to concentrate on a specific tech segment and expand into the US, joining Y Combinator in late 2019.

Y Combinator pushed us to sharpen both our product and go-to-market over three intense months. Along the way, we learned from some of the most ambitious founders and teams globally.
When COVID-19 hit during our batch, we refocused quickly — simplifying the product and narrowing our customer base to improve efficiency.
We then signed our first key customers, including Front, Lattice, Postman, and AB Tasty. We’re still early, but we’ve built something our customers genuinely value.

Refocusing paid off. Our growth accelerated, enabling us to expand significantly in the US.
Building on that momentum and strong customer traction, we raised $15 million in Series A in the summer of 2021 with leading fintech investors. This marked a new phase for Upflow, scaling from a 13-person team to an international company with a presence in New York and across Europe.

In early 2024, we launched Upflow Payments, our payment processing platform built directly into our core product. It gives B2B companies a more seamless way to collect payments, removing the limitations of traditional gateways.
Upflow Payments goes beyond payment collection. It helps improve the customer experience, reduce churn, and strengthen long-term relationships.

Upflow has grown into a team of 50+ people across the US and Europe. English is our primary working language, and our team brings together a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds.
We value these differences and are aligned around a shared mission: radically transforming how B2B companies get paid.
